⚙️ Firmware & Updates

Oura has confirmed that the latest Oura Ring 4 firmware can leave some rings unable to sync, and the problem appears limited to owners who moved to a new phone without a factory reset after first setting up the ring. The bug is still open while firmware 2.13.1 rolls out, so if you switched phones recently, charge the ring and give the app time to reconnect before anything else, because a factory reset can wipe data still on the ring.

Marty’s Take:

If you own a Ring 4, hold off on manually installing firmware 2.13.1 until Oura’s group criteria clearly rule you out, and screenshot your last good sync first. A bug that strands data on the ring is the real cost of a smart ring, and it’s why a rival tracker in our best fitness tracker picks deserves a look if reliability matters most to you.
